Players and cards
5 players, each for themselves, with the Sueca deck (40 cards, no 8, 9 or 10): 8 cards each. From strongest to weakest: Ace (11 points), 7 (10), King (4), Jack (3), Queen (2), 6, 5, 4, 3 and 2 (no points). There are 120 points in total. The first dealer is drawn at random; then the player on the right deals. Talking to your partner is not allowed.
Bidding
Starting with the player to the dealer's right, each player bids how many points their team will make, from 61 to 120, always more than the highest bid, or passes (once you pass you cannot bid again). When nobody wants to go higher, the highest bidder chooses trumps and calls a card they do not hold. If everybody passes, the cards are dealt again.
The called card
Whoever holds the called card is the bidder's partner: it is 2 against 3. Nobody knows who the partner is (not even the bidder) until that card is played. Example: with hearts as trumps, call the Ace of hearts.
Nulls
Instead of points you can bid nulls: you play alone against 4, with no trumps, and must not win a single trick. Nulls can only be bid before anyone bids points, or over 120.
Tricks
Whoever won the auction leads the first trick, and play goes to the right. You must follow suit; if you cannot, you may play any card. The highest trump wins or, without trumps, the highest card of the suit led. Whoever wins the trick leads the next.
Points
After the 8 tricks, the bidder's team must have at least the points they bid (bid 80 and made 70: they lose). Each player on the winning team scores: 61-70 → 1, 71-80 → 2, 81-90 → 3, 91-100 → 4, 101-119 → 5, 120 → 6. Nulls are worth 6. The losers score nothing. Whoever creates the table chooses when it ends: at 10, 15 or 20 points (the first to get there alone in the lead wins; if tied, one more hand is played) or after 5, 10 or 15 hands (most points wins). By default, at 10 points.
